Donald B. Wilson, age 86, of Alliance, passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at McCrea Manor Assisted Living Facility.
He was born on April 15, 1933 in Louisville, Ohio, to Harry and Alice (Harter) Wilson.
Donald was a 1951 graduate of Louisville High School and a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
He retired in 1980 from Quick Shops Inc. after working 14 years as a store manager and was previously employed by Perskeys for seven years as a store clerk.
A past member and president of the Alliance Senior Club, Donald was also a member of the Alliance Senior center, retired volunteer program and volunteer for Stark County Special Olympics.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Wilson, whom he married on November 26, 1955; daughters, Dawn Minich of Pennsylvania, Debra Douglas of Canton, Darlene Britt and Dorothy Wilson both of Alliance; brother, Homer Wilson of New Mexico; sister, Virginia “Chick” (Tate) Schuller of California; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding Donald in death were his parents; one grandson, Michael Hill; brothers, Virgil Wilson and Harry Wilson; and sister, Alice Solomon.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 with Pastor Mike Farmer of Vine Street United Methodist Church officiating at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
